One handmade beginning level reed is shaped on a nagamatsu shaper tip, from an Innoledy gouge. The reed tied on a 47mm MSA oboe staple and measures a total of 70-71mm. This reed is great for students who are just starting out. It is easy to play, has a warm and rich sound, and has a thicker tip. Beginners tend to break reeds easily, especially when the tip of the reed is very thin so these reeds are made with that in mind. All reeds I personally play-check for intonation, response, and excellent tone.
